1. What a Training Request Is
The Training Request feature lets a Participant (or a Guardian on behalf of a Minor) post or send a description of the training they want—such as skill level, discipline, preferred dates, general location, and budget—so that Instructors and Mentors ("Providers") can respond. These Training Request Terms ("Request Terms") apply to everyone who creates, views, or responds to a Training Request and are part of the FMN Terms of Service.
2. Creating a Request
2.1 Accuracy. You agree to describe your experience, goals, and any relevant needs honestly. Accurate experience information helps Providers plan safe instruction.
2.2 What not to include. Do not include in a Training Request: your street address, financial information, Social Security number, firearm serial numbers, detailed medical information, or any Minor's full name, school, photo, or contact information. Share necessary details privately with the Provider you choose.
2.3 Visibility. Depending on the settings you choose, a request may be (a) public — visible to approved Providers within the selected distance, showing your first name, last initial, general area (city/ZIP), and request details; or (b) direct — sent only to the Provider(s) you select.
2.4 Minors. Requests for Minors may be created only by a Guardian, may seek only Youth Classes or youth-appropriate Training, and must not identify the Minor publicly beyond age range and experience level.
2.5 Required acknowledgments. Before posting a request, you must accept the Training Request Participant Code of Conduct and the Training Request Safety Acknowledgment.
3. Responding to a Request (Providers)
3.1 Approved Providers only. Only approved Instructors and Mentors may respond to requests.
3.2 Accurate responses. Responses must accurately state the Provider's qualifications, proposed Training, location type, total cost, and any Provider waiver or prerequisites.
3.3 No obligation. Providers are not obligated to respond to any request, and Participants are not obligated to accept any response.
3.4 Prohibited responses. Providers may not use requests to market unrelated products, solicit firearm or ammunition sales, harvest contact information, or send repeated unsolicited messages after a Participant declines.
4. No Contract Until Booking
A Training Request and a response are invitations to communicate only. No agreement for Training exists until the Participant (or Guardian) and the Provider confirm a booking under the Booking Agreement, or otherwise expressly agree directly with each other. FMN is not a party to any agreement between Participant and Provider.
5. No FMN Matching Guarantee
FMN does not guarantee that any request will receive a response, that any Provider is suitable, or that Training will occur. FMN may use automated tools to notify Providers of requests based on distance, specialty, and availability; such notifications are not recommendations or endorsements.
6. Payments
FMN does not process payments for Training. Any price discussed is between the Participant and Provider. A Provider may share a link to its own outside payment page. Never pay by wire transfer, gift card, cryptocurrency, or other untraceable method at a Provider's request—report such requests to safety@firearmmentorshipnetwork.com.
7. Expiration, Editing, and Removal
Requests expire after 30 days unless renewed or closed. You may edit or close your request at any time. FMN may remove or restrict any request or response that violates the Platform Policies or appears unsafe, fraudulent, or unlawful.
8. Messaging and Moderation
Communications about requests occur through FMN private messaging, which may be moderated as described in the Privacy Policy. Keep communications on the Platform until a booking is confirmed whenever practical.
9. Disclaimers
All Training Request activity is subject to the disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute-resolution provisions of the Terms of Service.
