Zero Range Intel
Our partner blog: a firearms insight magazine written with working instructors and practitioners.

What Zero Range Intel is
“Every debrief begins as an in-depth discussion with instructors, armorers, and field operators.”
Zero Range Intel (ZR Intel), published as Firearms Insight Magazine, calls itself “a magazine for instructors and practitioners.” It is published by Pulse Frontier, Inc. in Bradenton, Florida.
Its articles come from in-depth interviews with range instructors, armorers and field practitioners. Editors turn each interview into a readable breakdown with clear takeaways, and the practitioner reviews the full draft before it is published. It says it does not publish press releases or sponsored endorsements, and that no article placement can be bought by gun manufacturers.
Recent pieces cover topics such as grip and the drawstroke, cold weather as a performance variable, hunting judgment and restraint, and why instructors should check their instruction before correcting a shooter. Readers can create a free account and subscribe to its newsletter.

For instructors and mentors
- See how other instructors diagnose and correct common problems, in their own words.
- Pick up coaching cues and discussion topics for your own classes.
- Read pieces on teaching itself, such as checking the instruction before correcting the student.

Why we partnered
Zero Range Intel says it exists to document “the unfiltered craft of professional shooting instruction” rather than to sell guns. That is the same thing FMN members come to us for: learning from experienced instructors and mentors.
It gives our students something worthwhile to read between classes and gives our instructors a look at how their peers teach. That is why it is FMN's partner blog.
